Help!! My dull skin looks like crap and is aging too quickly!! Advice please!!!?

Hi. I am desperately seeking any and all advice that I can obtain regarding skin care. I am only 26 years old and I feel that my skin looks older. My skin lacks that soft, moist, dewy fair quality that many young people have. I DO NOT have a "peaches and cream" complexion, but I really, really want one!!

My skin is dry, uneven, and just "rough" looking. I used to struggle with acne, so I have some old acne scarring as well. I rarely have breakouts now, but my forehead skin often looks "lumpy" (not acne, just like hilly terrain on my skin. My skin kind of looks the way Britney Spears' skin looks in the pics of her that look really aweful.

Admittedly, I am a former sun-worshiper/ tanning bed patron. I now VERY RARELY tan my skin.

Please!!! I need any advice on anything that would work to improve my skin!! I don't have the money for anything REAL expensive, and would prefer not to go to the dermatologist (waiting list is about 8 months to get in to see him).

Help!

Sounds like you need to moisturize. You should take care of this from the inside out, and the outside in. Drink lots of water, and keep your skin clean, for starters.

Look for lotion that has natural ingredients to moisturize your skin. Try Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion; this has oatmeal in it, which is really good for your skin. You can also try lotion with milk in it; it makes your skin feel great. Moisturize morning and night for best results, unless your skin is greasy.

I would also recommend a moisturizing body wash. Try St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea butter body wash or a Dove body wash.

For your face I would recommend a lightweight moisturizer and a good cleanser. You can try Mary Kay Velocity products (marykay.com), which work great, or Neutrogena makes good products too. If your skin is damaged from too much sun exposure, make sure you use lotion with sunscreen in it.

You can also try an at-home microdermabrasion; it encourages circulation in your skin, so your skin will glow.

If you have any really dry areas of your skin, try Vaseline petroleum jelly; it's the best moisturizer out there.

drink water - it will help keep you hydrated and help with skin cell turnover.

exfoliate - you can mix a little baking soda with your regular face soap and rub it a bit. you can also use a washcloth -- don't be too rough, but if you do it a couple of times a week you should see a difference.

moisturize - find a decent face lotion (with alpha-hydryxy acids) and use it according to the directions.
Reply:Don't smoke, drink etc. Eat healthy, sleep enough, don't stress, drink water..... Ummm. Exfoliate and use Sublimage. It's super expensive but a life saver.
Reply:I was about your age when I started using Cellux-c serum. It's around $95.00 a bottle. It is pure vitamin C and is proven to help your skin. Look it up. It's also one of three things that is absorbed into the skin rather than resting on the surface. It does work. You use five drops a day. It lasts for almost two months. Also, Clinique makes a foundation that gives the illusion of a dewy good complexion called Almost Makeup. I used it for years. Hope this helps. I'm forty now and still get ID sometimes.
Reply:don't smoke it makes you skin look dull...exercise and drinkplenty of water, buy some lotion, i really like the body butters from bath and body or just wal-mart will do.
Reply:Easy question go to http://testitforfree.com try the moisturizer and wash.

Reply:You have to eat, drink and sleep properly! Exercise also helps!

`Nutritional info is easy to find. Make sure you are eating the right amount of the right sized servings of each food group. http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/food/...

`Drink at least 2L of water a day. For the first week or so, it will make your skin look worse, as it flushes everything out. After that, it will improve.

`Go to bed at a decent hour and get enough sleep. Caffiene is no substitute for actually sleeping!
