Skin prob...HELP!!!?

My skin for some reason peels on itself. It's not severe, it is just lightly, but i can NEVER銆€get rid of it. I use a great moisurizer, and i wash only at night, I exfloit once a week, I did everything possible, and I used to have great skin that never flakes. I do not know what is going on, my skin is just always so dry and ALWAYs a little flaky. How can I get rid of my dry skin and flakes??? ( I am 17 and I don't know what acne is, how did that happen??? I thought I am at the age of acne crisis...It seems like ever since when I was 12, the teenage-ish I got, the drier my skin gets, now i am about 18 and my skin is flaking!!!!????)

You may consider doing the following before consulting a dermatologist.

1. Use Ivory soap to wash with many soaps even those with moisturizer will dry the skin.

2. Take a multi- vitamin, you may have a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

3. If you are a very low fat diet, you may to increase the fat content of your diet, consider cooking with olive oil.

4. Olive oil for centuries been used as a natural moisturizer, yep, the cooking oil type.

5. If you are using a chemical exfoliate, this can really dry out your skin, consider not using it for awhile, use a instead Ivory Soap and a net scrub brush, followed by the olive oil.

Beware that olive oil feels greasy at first, but it does quickly absorb into the skin.

your skin routine seems perfect...though you should wash your face with a gentle cleanser (cetaphil is the best i've used so far) in the morning before you apply moisterizer. also, even though exfoliating removes dead skin cells, it can be very drying...so always use a heavy moisterizer after.

but it's not just the products, you should eat a vitamin and antioxident rich diet and exercise regularly.

also, you might want to consider taking omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil pills). our epidermis is 25% mono-unsaturaded fats that you benefit from taking the omega 3 pills.

drink a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated - your skin loses about 8 oz of water a day.

you may want to consider getting a facial every month (or every other month). it might make you red, but that'll dissapear in about a week.

also, talk to your facialist. they are experts in the catagory! my facialist always reccomends products for me when i have problems. she informs me what ingredients to look out for, and what to be weary of. she has given me facials for quite a while now, so she typically knows how to keep my skin in top notch.

i recommend using some vaseline on your dry patches every night for about a week. it may feel greasy, but it will defenitly help with your dry skin. and don't forget to use sunscreen!
