Today I gave shin chan(my rat) an olive oil bath because he has been itchy and I read that may be because his skin is dry from me giving him daily baths. And when I was combing his fur out(it seperated easily) I see these little tanish colored spots on his pink skin. And I tried to see if they would pull off like a scab or something but they would not. I just don't know if it's maybe cancer? I know they are susceptible to tumors, or so I've read. I can't find anything in my rat books about this. I would post a picture but the cameras charging and I just noticed this, of course his vet is closed(it's after 9pm here). Anyway, he liked the olive oil bath and he's not itchy anymore but now I'm worried something is wrong with his skin. He still plays just fine in his tower and climbs his ropes. Could it just be like freckles? I can't find anything online or in books that indicates that rats have freckles. If anyone has seen this please let me know so I can stop worrying. Thanks.
Do rats have freckles on their skin(not fur)?
If his fur attached to those freckles is spotted, you're ok. Its most likely just freckles, but with colored rats their skin is colored like their patterns.
I'd stop giving him daily baths, theres absolutely no need for it. Monthly would be just fine if its needed.
You might also want to look into getting a second rat, they're happier in pairs.

Is Shin Chan's (cool cartoon) fur (above the 'freckle) that color?
Im 99.99 percent it's okay.
If u can put a picture up so I can tell for sure.
Don't give him so many baths
